I'll have a little play and look at the noise issue to see how it looks - almost forgotten but I also have one of the TS Astro Planetary Imagers http://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/product_info.php/language/en/info/p1778_Astro-Webcam-mit-Adapter-und-IR-Sperrfilter---Mond---Planeten.html en route back from Bernard at MA - which with the sony HAD should be similar to the SPC, but lacks the driver refinement - I should be able to do a quick side by side comparison and choose the best of the two for further work.

All good fun, educational and something to do on these cloudy evenings
