Venus Just 2 Degrees From The Sun

I spent about 2 hours on and off trying to get this image, mostly troubled by clouds but the sky cleared later on and I was able to find Venus just 2.0 degrees from the eastern limb of the Sun. Needless to say the image was boiling away and hundreds of pollen grains flashed past and glinted in the view. The 14” was stopped down to just 70mm to prevent the sunlight flooding the tube. The image is a stack of nearly 500 frames using the DMK at prime focus. I think the complete ring of atmosphere is illuminated, >300 degrees anyway. The next time we might see Venus will be on Wednesday morning!
