Has anyone seen a video of someone operating one of these? want to get an idea for how big it is next to a real person.

The 10 inch seems too small, feel like I'll be leaning over all night.

I wouldn't worry too much about the height of the EP, most people just use an adjustable height observing chair.

Extends up to 510mm. that plus my own torso height would probably be close? Dunno what sort of seat height is required for an average 6 foot bloke to comfortably view through a 10 inch dob

I've got one of these which I use with my 12" solid tube dob. Another option for a 10" dob is to put it on a water butt base like this http://www.diy.com/nav/garden/garden-care-watering/watering-irrigation/water_butts___accessories/Sankey-Standard-Waterbutt-Stand-Black-9218470 A fella at the club I go to uses one, works really well.

I'd have thought that a 10" dob could be used seated in any standard chair? Focal length is only 1200-1250?
