Yes, if you use a standard x2 barlow lens.

I used to barlow a 12.5 Orthoscopic to get high power, and preferred it to a 6mm Ortho I had. The 6mm had very tight eyerelief, but the barlowed 12.5 was much nicer to use. Did the same with a 18mm to get a nice to use 9mm.

I used a good barlow however, a tatty but good optically Televue 2x that I picked up cheaply second hand. I still have it, a useful tool.

we have a tal barlow and was going to get a cheap 12.5mm to see how it went before buying a half decent one. May also try the 18mm now you said that
