Torch from FLO

Recommended Posts

Been going to get one of these LED torches for ages but kept forgetting.

Sent for one from FLO and it arrived this morning, thanks Steve.

Very handy little torch, nice flat beam and a good brightness range

both red and white, all run by a PP3 battery..

It's got corners as well so won't roll off my observing table outside.

A bargain 8) :(

These things are held in high regard, but £15 seems very steep to me. WHat's wrong with just buying a cheap torch for £1 from the local newsagent and painting the front with the wife's red nail varnish a few times?

Are these dedicated red light torches really worth the cash?

Bought one yesterday from rother valley optics only cost £14.99

WOW saved a penny i`m rich

Thinks: hang on while in shop saw (and bought) celestron skymaster 15x70 bino`s

saw (and bought) antares illuminated kellner

Maybe buying online would be cheaper after all :(

Best torch i have is a wynd up led.

Only one setting but invaluable and you don't ever need batteries.

Wynd it up for one minute and it will stay on for 30mins...

Picked it up at a sevice station...

Given the red/white light choice and the variable brightness with even beam

LED light rather than a bulb, I'd say yes :(

Why? Whats so good about it compared to a bog standard torch with red nail varnish over it?

Stormwatch, the answer is in Phil's response:

I use one myself. It is very good. I also have two 99p Tesco's torches with red electricians tape, one in each eyepiece case.

You pays your money, you makes your choice.
