lhuchison
I recently had to return my new Baader hyperion zoom due to a fault , So i,ve decided to go for a set of primes.I,ve gone for the Celestron x-cel LX's which have very good reviews and are a good price.Looking at the "what E/Ps sticky" i,ve gone for the 7mm, 18mm and 25mm eps. as i have a 8in f5 reflector.Still not sure why a 18mm for the mid range and not a 12mm?Any ideas? I already have a 15mm and 6mm SkyWatcher wide angle E/P,s would these be usable in this range or is the quality not compatible ?I like planetary as well as a new interest in DSO,s. Qualia
Still not sure why a 18mm for the mid range and not a 12mm? Any ideas? If I recall - don't quote me on this for I'm reciting from memory - the 'mid-range' was subdivided into higher and lower categories. So, for fast scopes I imagine you do something like:Multiply f by 1.25 to 2 = Mid Range High PowerMultiply f by 3 to 4 = Mid Range Low PowerFrom my limited experience, the LXs are a pleasure to use
DOBBY
I bet that 18mm becomes your most used EP in your 8 inch...nice DSO views with it
lhuchison
I never thought to get a 18mm till it was advised in the "what ep to get " sticky.can't wait to try it out, when the clouds clear!
rwilkey
Your chosen range is perfect for your Explorer 200P, I know as I use these myself, wise choice recognising the fast nature of the scope.
