When binoculars are better than a scope...

Two nights ago, there was a rare break in the clouds between rain storms here in S.Oxon, leading to a fantastically clear hour or so with far more stars visible than normal, even in my worst, light-polluted direction (N).

I thought about getting the scope out, but the humidity was clearly 101% and dew was forming on everything, so I got out my 15x70 Celestron binos. Wow! The best view I've ever had through binos or a small scope of M101 (a large shimmering pearl), M51, M81 (could even see detail and the spiral arms), M82 and a stunning view of M13.

Maybe our climate has some advantages after all....

Great binoculars are i am thinking about attaching cam to me biggest pair finding out which is best way to attach cam direct to lens of bins or remove bins eyepiece some how.

2 eyes are better than 1. Binoculars are great for big wide field objects and very good in the current weather for observing through gaps in cloud.

You can set up and pack up in seconds, in time to escape the rain.

Get a decent waterproof bino and you can observe in the rain!
