EQ5 or skytee2

hi i need to get a tripod and mount for a explorer 200p can anyone recommend whether i get a EQ5 or a skytee 2 mount please.

Can't comment on the skytee but I'm a new owner of an EQ5.

Seems like a good enough sturdy mount. With the counterweights installed, it's a ****** to shift around. I understand it's not going to do well with astro photography with the 200p on it but it's great for visual work.

Depends what you want to do with your telescope. The EQ5 is an equatorial mount whilst the Skytee is alt/az. Conventional wisdom suggests the EQ5 may be a bit on the light side for astrophotography but some folks do get good results.

hi its my first scope and for visual use only really not needed for astrophotography what will be the easier one to use

I've got a 200P dob so I'll suggest the alt/az option
