Collimation ? YES COLLIMATION.

I have recently collimated my scope to the best of my ability, bearing in mind I'm a complete novice. I have dotted my primary (happy with that), aligned secondary & then aligned primary. My question is how accurate does the alignment of the secondary have to be ? Like I said I've never done it before. If its a millimeter or two out will it make THAT much difference or to a novices eye is it negligable ? Thanks for your time. Regards Al

It won't really make a difference if its a bit out; it will take a few goes at it to get it bang on anyway, but for the most part you can make do without it being millimeter perfect.

You have no idea how much of a relief it is to hear that Catweazel. Haven't really had the chance to try it out since I collimated it so now very much looking forward to CLEAR SKIES WHENEVER THEY COME. Thank you
