Best nights observing in months

Boy, last night down here in Southampton was stunning!. The milkyway was so clear (so that was a nice start) seeing was rated very high as we had a lot of rain through out the day. I actually got lost in a sea of stars at times.. thats an indication of how good it was!.

I had both the ETX & ST120 out under the stars till 1.45am. The ETX on Jupiter was great, lots of detail there this little scope is a real suprise for its aperture. I did try the goto (see the other thread) but gave up on that. The ST120 was fantastic!!.. I used it in 1.25 mode with the Baader 21mm and just swept the sky for the usual summer targets, north cross, Vega, m57,m27,m81,m82 + milkyway sweeping (which I've not done in some years).

Brill night!.. just wanna get out there again now
