M51 - my best DSO

This is my best DSO attempt so far. 26 x 150s, 10 flats, 10 bias and 66 darks with kit in sig. Processed in DSS and GIMP (levels & curves) and cropped to removed odd shaped stars (no coma corrector). Suggestions on improvement are very welcome.

Galaxy is OK, background is a bit noisy with a colour cast.

If you are familiar with Pixinisight you can use noise reduction tools like ATrousWaveletTransform. This will give you leeway for working on galaxy. Something like attached,
