Just standing viewing, admiring, when pop , one of the plates holding the Vixen tripod onto the supporting arms decided to pop off. This was followed by the Orion 200 ota which decided to part from it's base plate, having been too lightly threaded in.

Caught the tripod with one hand and the ota with the other. Love old school stuff, all the tinkering and fixing!

Was that with your Vixen SP mount? Scary. I though the OTA are bolted to the mount on that mount.
