It would depend on if the netbook meets the minimum required specifications to run the camera.

I use a Samsung NC10 Netbook to run all my imaging software in the field (Starry Night running the mount, Nebulosity capturing with an ATIK 383, PHD guiding with a Mead DSI).

No problem with performance, however the screen is too small to display all the open applications adequately. It’s sufficiently annoying that I am going to buy a dedicated Astro Laptop with a 17” screen….

What about seeing focus on height magnitude? I am imaging the Sun as well?

Hi Mick,

Sorry, is the screen big enought to see if the sun is in focus at very magnitude. The screen look very small which could be a big problem. A problem you had as well.

One other thing as well. Do you need to stick with the type of processor they state or can it be a little less poweful or is that a bad idea?
