My New Imaging Rig

Hi Guys

Having recently sold my 300P Flextube to a fellow SGL member (Benjii) i decided that i wanted to get back into imaging.

I bought from FLO the Skywatcher Evostar 80ED Pro Outfit along with the Skywatcher Focal Reducer 80ED and camera adaptor.

Amazing that i sold the Dob and bought this kit which left me up £3 on the deal .

Anyways, hoping to try it out tonight visually and if time allows i may try the guiding setup and do a short imaging session to refresh my memory .(Last image i took was almost 12 months ago )

Hi Graham

I'll be interested in your findings as I'm about to do the same and purchase the SW ED80 DS Pro - once I can arrange time off work to receive delivery. I also intend to get a similar mount to yours at the same time. I see you have a ST-80 as a guide scope and again me too. However over the last few days I've been trying to evaluate an alternative, namely a Canon EF lens coupled to my guide camara via a Mogg adaptor.

Can you post a link to the extension tube used between the ST80 (Nice CF wrap, by the way!) and the QHY5?

It is a T2 60mm Extension Tube which i got from Astro Boot for £4.50.

If they do not have any then try FLO and others.

They've got one less now - They're only 8 miles up the road from me, so I nipped in.

Apart from one thing that looks great. The wooden deck. Are you going to image from there? I'd expect it to be very bouncy.

That is the only downfall Olly.

I always make sure that i am off the decking before the imaging run starts.
