Mars March 18th f57

Another Mars from the 18th this time at f57 Using 1.5x drizzle in as!2 seems to improve things. 5000 frames from over 10000 1/30 sec & 30fps. 5x powermate + 2x Barlow.

Very nice, what focal length is that f number can be misleading, what focal length is your scope as i took a similar shot 5x tv and 2x celestron in IR yesterday the size is a lot bigger than this without 1.5x drizzle. wonder whats causing the huge Focal length difference. your getting some good detail at these high focal lengths. im pushing too high, but its hard getting different powers only so far you can go with tubes. excellent capture and processing Stuart

Thanks Neil. Sorry its misleading i've downsized the 1.5 drizzle to 75% so its almost actual size. F57 for me is over 14 metres. I think the seeing did improve slightly at this fl.

F57?? I'd be wanting 12/10 seeing before I'd even consider such a thing with the C11 LMAO. F40 max for me. Nice work though Stuart! Seems to be working for you. Just remember what Drizzling is all about though - The reconstruction of undersampled data..

Yep its madness John but the images are not bad. I would prefer f40 but extensions only get me to f35.

I'm rather ignorant of the drizzle dynamics and the meaning of undersampled data? Still got lots to learn.

That's ok Stuart, I don't know anything fully either lol. I know what works for me & that's about it.
