A whole lot of barlows, whats the difference?

Recommended Posts

Ok I know the difference between 3x and 2x barlow, and that there is also all different brands....

But I just been looking and the prices are ranging from 10.00 to over 70.00.

So what is the difference between all these barlows and what does these different things do regarding viewing planets and dso?

I want a good view and as cheap as possible, any advice?

"I want a good view and as cheap as possible, any advice?"

Ignore the ones on the net for under £15

These are plastic with single lens,s

Yet (some) sellers describle them as achromatic doublets with multi-coated optics

You are in effect buying another eyepiece so similar quality criteria should be applied. The TAL's are proven to be of good optical quality with minimal light scatter and decent coatings. Other types in that budget range may not have those qualities. The TAL's satisfy your "...good view and as cheap as possible..." requirement better than others in their price bracket I reckon.
