First view of saturn

Hi had my first sight of saturn at 4.00am this morning what a fab sight, bit of a wow moment been after seeing it since I had the scope since christmas. So that is Moon, Jupiter, Venus, Mars and Saturn on my list now.

Viewed using a 12.5mm and 20mm and 6mm for saturn but found that the 12.5mm was the best for saturn.

Now to get some images of them.

I was out at 4 too & Saturn was quite sharp, Cassini quite easy, couldnt see any detail in the cloud belts but was a grand sight.

Saturn's the one that keeps you going back. I still haven't managed to see the Cassini belt though. I have a top mag of 150X and my viewing is hampered a little by being on the outskirts of Sheffield (I do have a filter which helps).

I saw Saturn for the first time last night. At about 2am and I found it quite easily. I could see the rings clearly and it was magical seeing it with my own eyes.

I am staying for three days near Matlock no light pollution just in the middle of nowhere, with a pub just down the road. A fabulous clear sky don't think you could ask for more.

Saturn -- would love to see it through my scope (just new to this game so havent had much time at it). Last night would have been good as i didnt sleep a wink (not very well at moment), but the skies were complete clouded over

Any ideas if Saturn will start to appear earlier in the evening in the coming months?

mmm guess what, the skies have clouded over now I am back from pub would'nt you know it like I said patience lol

Saturn will be moving higher in the east in the comming months but the light nights will also be comming in:(
