Mars - the experiment continues

Well tonight seems a bit less turbulent than earlier in the week.

Although I'm really struggling with the wrong equipment for Lunar Planetary work, I'm enjoying the experimenting anyway and might treat myself to a Maksutov soon for when I can't do deep sky stuff.

Anyway, these both taken tonight, one with my old Meade LPI camera, and one with my modded DSLR using the EOSmovrec software and the 5x magnified liveview. Both through the 8" F.5 newt and both with two 2x barlows stacked. I think that with a Maksutov the DSLR really could work as a planetary camera using this method - not the usual route I know but an interesting experiment all the same.:)

BTW the DSLR image is the bottom one
