I've been keeping an eye on this for the past few hours ever since Calsky sent me an alert. Even with the moon out there is a strong possibilty of aurora being seen as far south as the Midlands tonight.

Another CME is expected to hit tomorrow morning according to SpaceWeather.com -- News and information about meteor showers, solar flares, auroras, and near-Earth asteroids so there could be activity for a couple of nights. :D

According to Space Weather the IMF (Interplanetary Magnetic Field) has switched its polarity to north which has reduced the chances of aurora for the time being. Recalling what I heard on last night's Horizon program is that a southern-polarity magnetic field has a better chance of producing aurora as it opposes Earth's own northern-orientated magnetic field.
