Hightower
So, the astronomy books I've been reading recently have mentioned the Doppler effect a few times, and then I stumbled on this:
paul schofield
Excellent, never seen the doppler effect demonstrated by a dog before. That made me laugh during a boring afternoon at work.
Mr Q
A nice funny way of demonstrating the effect! Same thing with trains passing by a stationary observer. The pitch increases as it nears and decreases as it travels away.In cosmology, an object approaching us has its light frequency shifted toward the blue end of the light spectrum and towards the red end if going away from us. This also works with radio waves. Now if only objects in the universe made noise...it would be so much easier to understand the doppler effect!
