Recently bought an EQ 6 with an exlorer 300. 14 months old but never been outside. Problem: the handset needs the time reset at each startup but the date and location etc. are OK -any suggestions

That sounds normal unless you never turn it off. I think the date will alter as well.

The time is not stored in the handset, you need to enter this everytime you use the telescope. The date stored is the last time the handset was used and the location is stored in the handset.

eh... that is normal ... you have to input the time when you turn it on ....

why have you never had the setup out ??

I just bought the setup, the previous owner bought it new 14 months ago and it never moved out of his conservatory

Got a real bargain, just need to learn how to set it up now.

New to GoTo.

Sounds a bit naff not to have battery supply for the basics. However now I know - many thanks to all

There are a few things need setting every time you turn it on, one that quiet important is the tracking, the default at start up is off...
