Are these cameras any good found on e-bay.

Well why not, The super HAD Sony looks to be the choice among the three for me, but don't go on my recommendation. Perhaps a direct ask to MartinB would be advisable. I guess as long as you get some capture software, and it produces an AVI file. The sensor is .001 LUX, so that takes care of faint objects. The only other criteria, is getting an 1.25" adapter to fit when the lens is removed.

If the cable can be converted to USB, then the 12 Volts required is in the USB itself. Jobs a goodun, as they say.

Please consult more experienced members before committing to buy though.

err... correct me if I am wrong, but I was under the impression that USB was 5V

You're absolutely right Steve, and my apologies to Doc. for a very careless mistake. I fitted a 5 volt fan to my Fusion webcam, so I don't know what the hell I was thinking of.

Saved by the bell. Can only be senility you know.
