Cheap HA filter?

Has anyone tried using a baader Fringe Killer filter combined with a red filter?

According to the data sheet, it should be ok, maybe not as narrow a pass band as a dedicated filter, but worth a try if on a budget, and who isn't.

Hi Naz, in my experience a cheap H-alpha filter is a contradiction in terms. I doubt that the arrangement you mention would provide H-alpha views of the sun.

I certainly hope IT'S NOT a sun filter version you're thinking of Naz!!

Sounds more like a narrow-band for imaging nebs with??

Wasn't even considering the Sun, just wondered if it was any good for nebula. Just that Baader mention it in the spec sheet, and wondered if anyone had tried it?

Just checked the link, it's not working, will try and and find one that takes you to the baader Fringe killer sheet, says on there about using it with a red filter.

Wonder if it would work in conjunction with the film filter which is white light?
