Imaging/view proms

I'm more or less a complete novice to solar imaging.

Just wondered exactly how you go about viewing and/or imaging solar proms.

Is it possible with a standard scope and Baader Solar Filter? Or do you need a specialist filter? Or am I barking up completely the wrong tree.

I have a SW 200P on an EQ5 mount and a Baader Solar Filter... what's the extent of what I can do with this kit?

To view and/or photograph solar prominences you will need either a dedicated hydrogen-alpha telescope or a telescope fitted with similar Ha filters, unfortunately these are rather expensive. Baader solar film will allow you to safely view or photograph sunspots, faculae, plages and solar granulation.
