OBSERVING TONIGHT AT DERWENT RESERVOIR

Sunderland Astro are holding an observing event at our dark sky site at Derwent Reservoir at the Millshield car park at 7.00 pm.

If anyone is unsure where it is Graham Darke will meet you at the Wetlands Trust at Washington at 7.00 pm to lead the convoy.

And a cracking night it was too! Transparency was excellent. Horsehead picked up visually in my refractor with h beta filter and a 32 mm eyepiece. Good to see comet Garradd too. Nice and bright. M3 was lovely through Michael's C11 as was the Ghost of Jupiter which was surprisingly bright and well defined for it's low altitude. That wind was chilly mind!
