Thinking of mounting some large binoculars and/or a PST depending on how it pans out sort of can't lose at that price.

The tripod I bought years ago for the DSLR is too lightweight, though at the time I thought it was a bargain (clsoing down sale of local Jessops).

It will easily take a 15x70 or even a 20x80 binocular.
