Baader Zoom Issue

My Zoom has un-screwed itself and will not re-tighten. I am terrified of cross threading it anyone any ideas? I've only used it a few times and to be honest it was a bit loose when I got it a couple of weeks ago, is it a return do you think?

Do you mean that it has come apart into two sections ?

You will only cross thread it if two sections have parted company and you are trying to refit them together. If it's a bit loose and won't re-tighten, and was like that on receipt two weeks ago, then I'd contact the supplier to see about returning it.
