Starry Night Pro 5 set up problem

I have had no success insetting up the link from Starry Night Pro 5 to my 8i. I have used it before with a Mead OK but not my Celestron.

I had down loaded the Drivers ASCOM V4.1 have tried 2 Serial cables. When I set up the properties etc and save it tells me that the telescope is "Not connected". I have tried both connections on the Scope and have tried various COM ports in the set up. When I try to connect it reads " The device is not open" Has anyone any idea what I am doing wrong.

which cable do you have for controlling your 8i? And where did you get it from?

I meant where did you get the cable that plugs into the base of the handset to control the scope?

I dont know where I got it it must have been from a astro dealer. All i can say is its grey but no markings or names on it. It may have been for my old Meade. I really cant remember

If its for a Meade, it wont work (sadly).
