Fantastically clear for the early evening last night.

With the Vixen could make a mountain peak on the dark rim about one eighth of the way round the sw, just shining on it's own.Thought it was a star on the rim, but kept watching it for some time. Facing this was one side of a crater, brilliantly illuminated, looked like it was spotlit. It really stood out against all the other illuminated areas.

Some of the smaller crater pits were just black with shadow. The other surface features were so very clear and bright, spent ages with both a blue and Moon filter, before swinging over to Jupiter, again crystal clear.Wiped the ice off the tube and went in for hot choccy.Excellent.
