Meade DSI

A very good morning to everyone, I am a very new member and wish to ask about

the focusing of the DSI.

As the manual says, you can focus on a terrestrial object but in my case the image

is pulsating as if it is trying all the time to focus but never doing so.

Can this be normal on earth objects or am I doing something wrong? I do not

want to set up on "deep space" and then find that this is happening.

Would appreciate any info and help.

could this be heat haze was the scope cooled down? was the scope inside or out,what scope and eq are you use in the camera with ? focal reducer or not ? more info please on set up ect

Thank you WhiteDwarf for your early reply.

Setup is inside thru open window Eq 3..... have considered viberation

and this does happen on using the focus control, must say that the

scope is a home-made 102mm, 48" focus, not the steadist of set ups

but I do stand back and allow any vibes. to settle but the image is

still wandering, the eyepiece is 5/8" ortho with rack and pinion.

is a home made 4" refractor, crown and flint fran haufer og 48" focus,

not hte steadiest of setups but I do allow the vibes. tosettle but the

image still wandering, eyepeice is 5/8" ortho. with rack and pinion.

From inside you should never try out a scope as you pic up hot air streaming out of the window making your view wobbly. This might be a probable explanation.

Many thanks and point taken, I must admit, the frequency of the pulsing varies

and this is probably the reason why, different current of air passing thru. the window.
