Quick webcam question

Hi

I'm about to try my webcam for the first time and I've made it using the classic film canister method.

But do you simply attach direct into the telescope eyepiece holder? If so why don't you need an eyepiece? Why can it focus when our eyes need an eye piece?

The eyepiece charges the overall magnification of the image. You can project an image onto a piece of white card placed over the focuser draw tube at the point of focus. A webcam attached to a telescope is just like any other form of camera, the focused light rays fall onto the sensor / film placed at the point of focus and a sharp image is formed.
