Mirror cover for 200p dob.

Just a quick one, can any SW 200p DOB owner tell me if there is meant to be a metal cover behind the mirror as mine does not have one ??? I am thinking maybe it does not to quicken cooling down. ??

The forum is very quiet at this time of the morning.

There is no cover on the back of the mirror.

If you are thinking that dust might get in then you could always try a shower cap type cover.

When observing you want the tube open so that air can circulate inside the tube to equalise the temperature to ambient conditions.

Mine came with no cover at all to put behind the primary mirror.

You are right, it doesn't have one to aid cooling.

Hi Paul. The 200p comes without a cover as standard. Oddly the EQ mounted f5 200p does. I keep a shower cap on mine when its not in use.

Definately none on mine, and it does look a bit unfinished, but if it serves a practical purpose, thats fine by me. After all I can't see it from up the other end anyway.
