Finger print on eyepiece

I have just left a small finger print on my brand new Baader zoom, the first time I used it too, I thought the lens cap was on it what should I do and how long dare I leave it for before I do anything?

Best thing is to get hold of some of this Carl...Baader Optical Wonder Cleaning Kit | Telescope Accessories | Rother Valley Optics its used by many members on SGL and does a great job in cleaning optics

get it wiped of with a dry micro fibre cloth buy the fluid if you want but a light wipe will not hurt it the coatings are tough and should not hurt it

Second the micro fibre cloth and a careful bit of breath on the lens before wiping. A quick blow with a puffer bulb to get rid of any potential pieces of grit. I always like to have a good close look at the lens to make sure there's nothing nasty sitting on it.

i do *exactly* what andyh has suggested. very rare you need any kind of fluid with a microfibre cloth
