Just got this today and have spent most of the afternoon assembling the base mount. It is a 10 inch skyliner flextube. Surprisingly it came with proper 25mm and 10mm Plossls not the old MA's I got with my 127 Mak. Also a right angle finderscope.

So it looks like clear skies tonight so I will give it a test. I might even try my Hyperions in 2 inch mode.

That is a fabulous looking bit of kit there Karen.

I also like how you took the pics, it caused one of those wonderful life changing moments; see, it's not a maker's publicity "pack shot", and now I have spotted the uncanny resemblance to R2D2 when it's in the closed or short position! They are forever changed in my eyes now! :)

Of course, this will cause the weather to go all nasty again, but good luck with the new scope, I'm guessing it will serve you very well indeed. Congratulations, and have fun.

Looks really neat. Should be big enough to spot supernova SN2011a in NGC 3239 too, so the arrival is timely indeed.

If it's R2D2 it is very quiet. It just sits in the corner very neatly, and look it even has eyepiece case storage.
