Loose Eyepiece Cups - Suggestions?

Hi,

I got a few Celestron X-Cel LX Ep's recently and although I treat them better than my missus; the soft rubber surrounding the eyecups is coming loose from removing the dustcover when unpacking. I'm reluctant to reglue them without posting on here first! They're both brand new and say 10-15 hours of use (ie putting them away 15 or so times) they rubber is already looser on one side and everytime I lift the dust caps off it seems to worsen the problem. The dust caps don't feel overly tight....

Any suggestions? Anyone else had the same thing?

If the dust cap doesnt already have a small hole in it it might be worth putting one in it. It will stop the cap from forming a vacuum and make it easier to remove. As for a fix for the rubber..............

I really am not sure.

A smidgen of cryno glue should do the trick, just a Little on the end of a cocktail stick between rubber and ep, best to have a small hole in the dust cap as Paul has pointed out HTH
