astro mick
Hello. This is an image of the Galaxy M82 in Ursa Major, taken under bright moon light conditions. The camera is a MX716 Mono, using RGB Filters.L=6X600secs.RGB=3X600 Binned at 2x2.At the time the images needed flats badly, but did,nt have the time.I intend to add flats to-night.I processed anyway. Can you detect the Dust bunnies?Mick. Quatermass
Thats a great shot I can see a faint db but its not noticable to bother with for a great result. Flats are a pain to do but they are worth the trouble when it really matter and it allways matters.
Jessun
Can you detect the Dust bunnies?About 8 or 9... but the image is very even in illumination and really nice to look at! The moon is a pain at the moment... Phenomenal guiding btw!
lukebl
Nice work, Mick. Looks like you've got your guiding pretty well sorted. What mount and 'scope did you use?
astro mick
Hi Luke. The scope is nothing fancy at all.I am using the now discontinued Celestron 80ED,this has been a remarkable scope for the money, and its a shame they,ve pulled it.It is fairly slow at F7.5,but have just aquired an Ikharus 0x8 Reducer/Flattener from Ian King.Should speed it up to F6.37.Just need some skies to test with now.The mount is the NEQ6,and am really happy with it.I tend to re-calibrate when imaging near the zenith, which i find helps.Stars are,nt perfect though.Mick.
