Hello,

I am trying to make my EQ5 mount with dual axis drivers have guiding capabilities. I have seen a handset mod by shoestring astronomy that can be done that will add an ST4 (correct me if I am wrong on the port type) to the handset. If I was then to add a USB guide mod Rother Valley Optics EQ3 Pro/EQ5 Pro/HEQ5 Mod | Telescope Accessories | Rother Valley Optics to the port of the hand controller would this allow for guiding. So the set up would be:

Guidescope and cam ---> PC Via USB controlled via PHD with feedback then back sent to the scope by USB to the USB guider connected to the handset via the added ST4 port.

Would this work or am I missing something? I could do the entire mod for less than 70 quid rather than trying to upgrade the mount or buying the expensive EQ synscan thingy.

Thanks for your help.
