Laser Collimator Question

Recommended Posts

Yes that would be OK. I see the text describes it as adjustable itself which is one of the points you will see raised when people talk about the benefits/problems of laser collimating.

The first thing I would check though is whether you have a marker on the centre of your primary mirror, I'd expect you have but it's worth checking.

Using a laser is an excellent way to collimate your scope but cheap lasers tend not to be collimated themselves and you must check this before using it in your scope. If the laser has no adjustment I would not buy it, a cheshire eyepiece is just as if not more effective.

To be honest the Seben one looks just like the Antares, which is the one I have, and I checked to be sure the Ebay ad said it was a metal one and was adjustable. They may just be the same units badged for the various companies but from the same source.

Remember to add postage on when comparing prices.
