Russian observatory design

Found an interesting observatory design in this this article about Klevtsov telescopes that was posted in the Equipment section today.

If you scroll down to the first image in the article you'll see it has hinge-down triangular roof sections, the short wooden pole attached to the apex when pushed up presumably raises the apex enough to allow roof sections to be hinged down.

However, The rusty iron sheeting looks well dodgy health-wise (unless tetanus enhances night vision!).

You're right.

I was too busy looking at the Klev, to notice the roof.

Rather clever and perhaps should cope with wind quite well.

Siberians don't get tetanus. They laugh at tetanus and kick it in the groin.

They're very resourceful, I guess no nipping down to Wickes for some 2x2's and T&G cladding.

So lets use some of those sharp stakes they used to stick in the ground to keep Atilla out, and some WW2 tank hull pieces that were lying around on the common ....
