Guiding errors

Hoping I'll get out tonight, it's been nearly a month of cloud.

I'm going to try and sort my guiding out.

I'm using a webcam/finder with Maxim, the problem is with the RA axis, I have taken great pains to polar align but the line on the guiding graph always creeps down to around -2.5 and then guides on a straight line for the rest of the night.

I have tried increasing the aggressive setting but no change. I have tried adjusting the polar alignment but things get worse.

I'm now thinking if my mount is running a bit slow

any ideas.

Thanks there, I'm all on mains PSU. I'm currently dodging the clouds trying to tune it in.

What I have at the moment is, its starts guiding ok for a short while and then dives negative. The star in the guide image moves top left, unguided the star normally drifts lower right.

It seems when it loses control, instead of correcting to bring it back it is making the error worse.
