How 12 months improved my M8

Recommended Posts

HI,

I have only been into astronomy now for 12 months, well actually a little over but not much. At first the learning curve was huge, and had lots of time banging my ahead against the proverbial brick wall. I still have plenty to learn, and keep enjoying pushing what I can do with what I have.

So I went back tonight and had another go at an image I took this summer( June 30th). and was 6x 3 minute exposures at ISO800. Taken with my Canon T2i( out for mods) on my HEQ5pro with the 8 inch Newt.

Anyway, it has surprised me how much more detail and dust cloud enhancement I am now able to achieve, all be it with a better program (PixInsight).

The first image was stacked and processed in Nebulosity and enhanced in Photoshop.

The second image was from the same stack just processed in PixInsight.

I think it's a huge improvement from the same data?

Thanks for looking and clear skies

Paul
