St-102 v 127 sct for imaging

Depends on what you want to image. For DSO's or other widefield objects, with a suitable filter to suppress CA, the ST80 would probably be a better bet than the 127 with focal reducer. The 127 should win easily on the Moon and planets.

You might have some problem with your mount. The Nexstar SE mount is an alt az mount so it's not suitable for long exposure imaging. You can get a wedge, but they aren't cheap.

I will keep the 127 for planetary imaging. Don't bother with DSO until you get a mount upgrade.
