First Moon

Thought I'd share my first moon shot. After 4 weeks of waiting webcam finally arrived. Managed an hour outside trying focusing and playing with buttons before rain set in. The results have almost made the wait worth it. When i eventualy get a motor things should really get sharp.

Thanks for the comments guys, but coul some let me know how to get a bigger/ wider image with my camera, this seems to be as wide as I can get.

Have you tried iMerge yet? I had a go with it yesterday on my first moon try and it's pretty easy.

Basically you take shots of each region of the moon, then merge them into one.

If you are after a wider shot to fit more of the moon in as mentioned you could take multiple shots and do a mosaic using iMerge or one of the other stitching programes. Or you could look into buying a focal reducer that will allow you to capture the whole disc in one go. This FOV calculator will allow you to enter your scope and camera details (might be pre configured in the drop down box's) and will show you the views you will get adding different barlows and focal reducers
