Is a 21cm Synta dovetail bar ok for mounting a 8" f5 1000 newt?. Never had one before!!

Rob, my Celestron is the same aparture and length as yours, just done a quick measure on my dovetail and it's the larger dovetail on my one. I'm sure the smaller one would do the job, but you might want to get a biggie at some point.
