Horse head test

So I was testing my iEQ 45 to see if it could handle 1600 mm focal length and a pixel size of 5.4 micron ...

Guiding was all over the place and both RA and DEC jumped on pixel in both directions resulting in an rms of 0.7 ...

I will not win any price with this image, but the goal was to see if I could get somewhere with a pixel scale of 0.7 as we are building a setup with the same scale ... it is clear a better mount is needed ...

Also I think collimation was off or focus ... but with a GSO RC 8 that's standard :icon_confused:

4x 30 minute Ha 5nm with QSI 583, no darks, bias, flats ...

Yves.

Hi Olly yes the graph made me think oh no, but the result is ok, I think it's because I used OAG ... so guiding at 1600mm is not to be expected to be as smooth as at 400mm ...

A shame I did not collimate first ...

Also maybe the stars could be smaller with better guiding ...

Yves.
