Also I think I got a moon just about to go behind. It might not be great but I'm dead pleased with this pic considering my very basic equipment. I can't wait to get my new scope in the new year

Ooo, I should I don't know why I have the white "cropping" line round the pic. It looks like I've stolen someone else's work but I haven't!!!

Im not sure if it is the GRS or a barge but it is a good image with a moon. The white outline happens with my images as well but I don't know why

I don't even have a motor on my scope, I just let it drift past as I filmed it so I'm very pleased considering. Next year I'm going for an 8 inch goto and am really looking forward to it.

That is a barge that you've captured very nicely. The GRS is larger; should actually be called the Great Pale Spot at the moment and would appear on the other belt.

Check out the timings for it, think stellarium does it and there are numerous applications out there to tell you when it is visible.

The GRS, assuming this was taken earlier this evening, would be just on the limb of the planet directly "left" of the barge where the SEB meets the limb and not visible unfortunately. Although you seem to have caught Europa just disappearing behind Jupiter on the right-hand limb of the planet

Thanks chaps! No Clayton I don't mind at all, fiddle all you like I've seen some other pictures from last night including the GRS and also the moon that are really good. It all shows just how fast that world moves. Awesome :-D

Just a bit of cheating with "Levels" in CS3

I selected the moon seperately and stretched its histo a bit.
