1st widefield attempt

On Saturday night, I spent a good while imaging Jupiter with a webcam and after this was done, my thoughts turned to having a go at widefield. I shot 10 x 75 second subs at 1600 ISO and 5 dark of the same; stacked in DSS and sort of processed (fiddled with blindly) in Paint Shop Pro 9. Any thoughts or tips on how to make them better would be gratefully received!

its a great first go and at least you have tried all the software out do you have light pol ,i say this as you can make the dust lane ,but the left corner looks like light polution to me i had the same sort of things the other night ,have you tried lowering the iso a touch

I was thinking about the composition as I took it. I might try the opposite end of the Milky Way next time as it's a bit darker t'other side! A few more subs and 800 ISO next then.....

Nice first attempt. Looks like light pollution in the bottom left to me too.

I hope you don't mind but I reprocessed the image you uploaded to remove the light pollution as best as I could.
