RAW AVIs wont play in Windows 7

Just started using my new i5 quad core pc running windows 7 home premium 64 bit. None of the y800 codec RAW avi files from my DFK will play on windows media player and they wont open properly in Registax. Only when I open and re-save them in Vdub will they work. Is there any easier way of putting things right as the vdub files are 3x larger?

Are you using a different computer to capture the AVIs. If you are, install the capture software that came with your DFK onto your new computer.

I'm not using the new pc to capture avi files, only to process those captured with my DFK and netbook which have been transferred to an external hard drive and then opened on the new pc. The colour rgb24 avis work fine its just the RAW files that wont work .

Have you installed the IC Capture software? That installs extra video codecs used by the standard Windows software

Yes I've just installed ic capture and they are now playing in media player cheers guys!!!
