I knew you were going to say that! i have a light pollution filter for my eyepieces and i have the adaptors to project so i'll try that.

I am usiing PHD to guide and so far am quite happy, i see people posting there graphs but dont know what they are for, what does this mean?

I am not quite certain what those artifacts are, but were you trying to shoot through a thin cloud cover ? Those streaks look that that could have been the case. In which, the light pollution would have been far more obvious than if the sky had been clear. I cancelled out the light pollution in Photoshop Elements 9.
