PHD & My ST4 Mount

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys

I have just bought a QHY5 for use as a guide camera, the ST4 cable is connected to the scope as required.

Am i right in thinking that i don't "Connect To Scope" but instead select "On Camera" in the "Mount" menu in PHD? is there anything else i need to do?

Also...

How long should i leave "Looping Exposures" running before selecting a guide star?

Cheers

Hi Alan

I use On Camera selected in Mount menu.

Once you are connected and can see stars in PHD you can select one. It is better not to choose a bright star. Select the star and PHD will start the calibration automatically.

Once calibrated PHD will track the star. You can make adjustments to the exposure time to get the best tracking.
